He Was Tortured for Five Days
At the night on November 18th, 2002, Christian Qingjun Cao was arrested from his home in Caoji Town, Xiayi County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province.
The police took Qingjun Cao to Guozhuang Town Police Precinct in the next morning. The county State Protection Team Director Sihong Zhang ordered him to take off his coat and kneel down on the ground. Zhang then howled at him, “Say immediately! Who made you a Christian? Who is your leader?” Zhang punched and kicked him. He grabbed his hair and slapped on his face. Then Zhang picked up an electric baton to strike him all over his head and face…Immediately, his head was covered with bumps. Then several policemen took turn to torture him till 8:00 at night. Seeing that Cao refused to tell any thing, Zhang ordered the police to shackle Cao’s feet who had already collapsed on the down. Cao was deprived of sleeping for 14 hours.
In the following days, Cao was beaten up for many times. The police cuffed him in a way called “airplane cuff” (one hand down from the neck and the other hand pulled up from back). The police ordered him to sit on the ground, and then interrogated him. While questioning him, the police kicked him around, stamped on his feet, and tightened the cuff. At one evening, a police put a very heavy shackle on his feet, and then hung him up to his toe tip by cuffing his hands to a bar. He was such hung for the whole night.
In the morning on November 24th, the police hung him up again on one of his hands for eight hours…Brother Cao was such tortured for five days and his body was covered with injuries. During these five days, he had almost nothing to drink or eat. In the afternoon, the police sent him to the detention center under the charge of “cult”. At the detention center, Zhang and others went to interrogate and torture him again.
In the second morning after Cao was arrested, several police went to his home and ransacked the house. They tried to force his wife to hand in spiritual books but failed.
Brother was detained for 45 days and he was released on January 2nd, 2003, after his family had spent 1500 RMB on bribing.
