Police Broke in at Midnight to Arrest Christians

 

At the midnight on January 29th, 2003, three Christians were arrested from their homes in Linhe Town, Suiyang District, Shangqiu City, Henan Province.

 

About 2:00 at the night, Linhe Town Police Precinct Chief Liang Yan led seven policemen to break into the home of Guixia Xu, female, 36. After ransacking the house, the police took away Guixia Xu and all the spiritual books. In the next hour, the same group broke into the house of Shandong Shi, male, 53, and arrested him. Christian Fenglian Yang, female, 38, was also similarly arrested from her home.

 

At the precinct, Shandong Shi took a chance and escaped. Then the police interrogated the other two for the source of the books and their religious activities. But the Christians did not tell any thing. Then the precinct chief ordered the two families to buy them out otherwise would detain them. Yang’s family treated the police a meal and paid 350 RMB. Fenglian Yang was released at the night. Xu’s family paid 1200 RMB and she was released at the next midnight.
