Police Extorted for 5000 RMB

In the morning on January 18^th, 2003, six police from Zhongfeng Town Precinct in Xiayi County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province went to Qinwu Xu’s home in Liugudong Village. With the charge of “illegally believing in God”, the police took him to the precinct. During the interrogation, Xu refused to tell the names of other believers. Then the Associate Director Diao threatened him to hand in 5000 RMB otherwise they would put him into jail. At the night, his family pled through some connections and paid 800 RMB. Then he was released.
