The Evidence of “Disturbing Social Security” – A Piece of Paper with a Bible Verse

In the afternoon on April 7^th, 2003, three policemen broke into Shaolan Gu’s home in Guangming Village of Zhutong Town, Huanyuan County, Anhui Province, and arrested Christian Xianrong Chen who was sharing the gospel there.

Xiangrong Chen, female, from Zhutong Town, was taken to the town police station. The station Chief Wenbin Zhang and Associate Chief Guibao Shen interrogated and beat her to force her to tell her preaching activities. Unable to get any thing, Chief Zhang led several policemen go to ransack her home. Finding a piece of paper with a Bible verse, then the police charged her with “disturbing social security” and detained her. She was detained for 28 hours without being given any drink or food. Later, her husband pleaded through some connections and also promised for her to renounce her faith. Then she was released.
