An Evangelist Was Beaten to Unconsciousness and Left at Road Side

At the night on March 9^th, 2003, a police car from Yangliu Town Police Station in Xuancheng City Anhui Province stopped at an intersection. Several policemen threw an unconscious man out to the road side and then ran away.

This man was Shihe Wang, 38, from Dingqiao Town, Jing County. He was an evangelist of “Justification through Faith” house church. In the afternoon on March 8^th, he was arrested while sharing the gospel at Taohua He’s home in Yangliu Town.

In the next morning, he was interrogated by the town police station chief Chengliang Tao and others. Before saying any words, Tao slapped him on his face for a couple times and then punched his chest heavily for a while. Then he pushed his head against the wall, shouting “Say! Who sent you to preach? If don’t confess, we will beat you to death!” Immediately, two policemen used electric batons to strike him till he fainted out… Then the police pulled him into a car, drove to an intersection and threw him out of the car.

Although Brother Wang survived from such torture, he could not recover from the injuries for a long time. On that day his only 150RMB was also taken away by the police.
