After Robbing Away 30000 RMB, the Police Sent Them to Jail

Fucai Liu and his wife Yufeng Wang, from Anming Town, Xifeng County, Liaoning Province, were arrested by the county police because of their faith. Arrested together with them was Guijie Yu, from Tainde Town. They were sentenced to jail for 2-3 years. The police robbed away 30000 RMB (~$4000) from Liu’s home.

In the morning on December 19^th, 2002, Fucai Liu went to share the gospel at Weichun Guo’s home in Anming Village. Guo’s brother reported to the police due to misunderstanding. The county police came right away and took Liu to the State Protection Team of the County Public Security Department. The police body-search him and took away 2000 RMB. Liu was interrogated and beaten up for three times.

In the afternoon, led by the village security officer Xiaodong Mao, several police went to Liu’s home. They arrested Liu’s wife, Yufeng Wang, and church leader Guijie Yu. The police confiscated several spiritual books, and a CD player. After interrogation, the three Christians were sent to Xifeng County Department. At the night, the police ransacked Liu’s house again. At last, the police took away 30000 RMB without giving any receipt.

In the morning on January 2003, Xifeng County Public Security Department sentenced Fucai Liu and Guijie Yu to three years in jail and Yufeng Wang to two years in jail with the charge of “believing in cult”. Then Liu was sent to Tieling City Labor Camp. Yu and Wang were sent to Liaoning Province Masanjia Labor Camp. (May God strengthen their faith and forgive our “weakness” not dare to visit them.
