Two Female Evangelists Were Arrested and Fined
In the morning on May 27th, 2003, female evangelists Shuqing Liu and Fenghua Cao from Liming Town, Hulan County, Heilongjiang Province, were sharing the gospel at Zhi Wang’s home in Sunhua Village. The town police station Chief Xuejun Yao led several police broke into the house. The police body-searched them and seized two spiritual books and several gospel materials. Then the police took them to the County Public Security Department Liming Develop Zone Branch. About 3:00 in the afternoon, the State Protection Division Associate Chief Keda Wang and others arrived and interrogated them, forcing them to tell the source of the books and meeting places. Then the police went to their home to search for evidence, but failed to find anything. At the evening, they were sent to the county 2nd Detention Center under the charge of “believing in cult and disturbing social order”.
On June 2nd, Shuqing Liu was released after paying 4600 RMB (~$600) fine. On June 11th, Fenghua Cao was released after paying 2000 RMB (~$250) fine.
