The Police Forced Her to Sign on a Statement to Renounce Her Faith

In the morning on May 23^rd, 2003, police from Changwen Town Police Station in Huaiyuan County, Anhui Province, together with the local town and village officials went to Mingjian Chen’s home in Xinqiao Village, and arrested Mei Meng, female, who was preaching the gospel there. Then the police went to Meng’s home in the same village, and ransacked the house, but found nothing. Then the police took her to the town police station.

The County Public Security Department Political Protection Division Associate Head Dianxi Shang and the station associate chief Shouming Wang led the police beat her up in order to force her confess. The interrogation lasted till 7:00 in the evening. But she did not tell any thing. Then Officer Dian forced her to sign on a statement to renounce her faith. She was released thereafter.
