4000 RMB – The Price to Get Out

On April 15^th 2003, Cuiling Han, was finally released after 45 days of detention by the police in Yongqiao District, Suzhou City, Anhui Province.

In the afternoon on March 1^st, Cuiling Han, from Zhulan Town, Yongqiao District, went and preached the gospel at Wenping Fan’s home in Hanzhuang Village, Yangzhuang Town. The town police station associate Chief Feng Wang and the village party secretary led several came and arrested her. She was went to Yongqiao District 1^st Detention Center.

During her detention, Yongqiao District Public Security Department State Protection Team Leader Wenshu Zhang and others interrogated her many times. The police also went to ransack her home, but did not find any thing. Then the police noticed her family to pay 4000 RMB (~$500) to get her out. But the family did not have money. Therefore, the police sent her to detention center under the charge of “disturbing social security”.
