The Police Dragged Her out of the Restroom Before She Could Pull up Her Underwear…
During April and May, 2003, nine house church Christians were detained, tortured, and sexually assaulted by the police in Anqing City, Anhui Province.
In the afternoon on April 22nd, Xiuzhen Zhang from Datukou Town was arrested when passing by Yulin Road Police Station on her way to preach. The police took away her gospel materials and 74 RMB cash (~$9). Then they interrogated and tortured her for about 10 hours. Sister Zhang’s head and body were injured allover. She was detained at Anqing City 1st Detention Center for seven days.
In the morning on April 24th, Genlan Wang from Changpu Town was arrested while preaching the gospel at Liangming Luo’s home in Xinan Village, Susong County, Anqing City. She was taken to the county police department. The Political Protection Division Head Yonghua Wang, male, interrogated and tortured her, but could not get any thing. Then she was sent to the county detention center under the charge of “suspected to disrupt state law enforcement by using cult organization”. On May 19th, after her family spent 2200 RMB (~$280), she was released.
On April 28th, Bingtao Liu from Shamuozhou Transportation in Daguan District, Anqing City, was arrested while preaching the gospel at Xianlan Weng’s home in Daguan District. She was detained in city detention center under the charge of “involving in cult organization” for six days.
In the morning on May 10th, police from Gaoling Town Police Station were pursuing after Christian Lixia Pan from Xianshan County. After capturing her, they beat her down on the ground and then tied her hands at her back. Then the police surrounded her and kicked her around. One policeman kicked her private very hard. She could not help screaming… Later she was taken to the police station. In the afternoon, she was released because she denied believing in God.
In the afternoon on May 15th, Juqing Jiang from Yangqiao Town was arrested while preaching the gospel at a home in Yingjiang District, Anqing City. She was taken to Huazhong Road Police Station where she was interrogated and tortured for 18 hours. Her body was covered with injuries after the torture. Even though the police did not get any thing from interrogation, they still sent her to the City 1st Detention Center under the charge of “disturbing social order by using cult organization”, where she was detained for 26 days.
On the same day Juqing Jiang was arrested, Yulian Yang from Yuheng Town was also arrested while preaching the gospel at Yuxia Ding’s home in Huatingxi Village, Daguan District, Anqing City. The police took away her gospel materials and 50 RMB cash (~$6), and then beat her up. Finally, she was sent to the same detention center under the same charge for 28 days.
In the morning on May 18th, Meixiu Wang from Yangqiao Town was arrested after preaching the gospel at Chunsheng Cha’s home in Daguan District. She was taken to Daguanting Police Station and beaten up. She face and body were covered with black and bruise. She did not tell any thing. At the end, she was sent to Anqing City Detention Center under the charge of “involving cult organization” for 14 days.
In the morning on May 19th, Christian Laizhi He living in rent in Lianhu Road Anqing City, was arrested while preaching the gospel at Bingrong Liu’s home in Daguan District. She was taken to Beizheng Road Police Station. During the interrogation, the station party director Jie Zhao sexually assaulted her. He dragged her out of the restroom before she could pull up her underwear, making her lower body uncovered at day time…Finally, she was sent to the city detention center for 14 days.
At the noontime on May 28th, Zhongxia Pan from Daguan District was arrested while preaching the gospel at Shanhua Yang’s home in Yingjiang District. She was taken to Dananmen Police Station, where she was interrogated and tortured. Her waist was badly injured. She was also cuffed to a steel pole in the yard and tortured till evening. Then she was released.
