A Catholic Evangelist Sentenced to One Year in Labor Camp under the Charge of “Preaching Cult”

Junying Wang, female, 35, was a Catholic evangelist from Wadian Town, Anyang County, Henan Province. On May 13^th, 2003, she went to preach the gospel to Zhenzhi Wang (female) at her home in Zhaoqi Village. Unexpectedly, Zhenzhi Wang had an evil idea in her mind: she told one of her relatives to report to the police. After a short while, Yonghe Town Police Station Party Director Wanghai Cheng led two policemen arrive in a car. They arrested Junying Wang and sentenced her to one year in labor camp under the charge of “preaching cult”. Her family spent more than 4000 RMB (~$500) but could not get her out. Nobody knows where she is serving her sentence now.
