The Police Waved a Paper in His Hand, Saying “This Is the Searching Warrant, but Not for Your Eyes!”
In the morning on May 13th, 2003, several policemen broke into Xiling Wang’s home in Gaozhuang Town, Anyang City, Henan Province.
The police howled, “Who is Xiling Wang?”
“What happened?” Wang was confused.
“You were told to us. Go with us. Then you will know what happened!”
Before Wang got a chance to further ask, the police dragged her into their vehicle. Wang said she needed a jacket. A police followed her to get the jacket. He found a small notebook from the pocket and confiscated it. Then the police took her to Gaozhuang Town Police Station.
Then four policemen came back to Wang’s home. One waved a piece of paper in his hand, saying, “This is the searching warrant!”
When Wang’s daughter-in-law wanted to check, the police refused. Then they ransacked the house, saying “That small notebook has a lot of religious stuffs.”
Wang’s son and daughter-in-law questioned, “Is believing in God against law?”
But the police continued turning the house upside down, finding another notebook. With these things, the police sent Wang to Wenfeng District Party School Police Station for interrogation. But they did not get any thing. At last, the police sent her to Anyang City Detention Center.
Wang’s family pleaded through every possible connection. After the family spent more than 8000 RMB (~$1000), she was released on June 21st.
